Overview:
Software Systems Engineers looking for that dream job in Bend, Oregon? Our client is continuing to develop an exciting new web-based monitoring platform. This platform serves as a key strategic element to our product offering.

The successful candidate will focus on the core of the monitoring platform, defining and developing the vision and methodology for web service based interaction with the database and remote devices. Our client is looking to strengthen their team with a full time Software Architect who is passionate about data, strives for excellence, and wants to make a difference in the environment.

Job Duties:
• Lead the charge in architecting, developing and refining Web-based energy monitoring system
• Lead architect for next generation data monitoring system design from inverter gateway interface to database to API’s and front end views
- Leverage outside resources to manage development of next generation data warehouse
- Develop next generation API between web monitoring device and server
- Develop application components to support API and database design
• Work in collaborative team environment to define new features, roadmap, data mining, and database analytics techniques
• Contribute new and innovative ideas to rapidly evolving web monitoring platform and to support management team in decision making
• Participate as an active developer, upgrading tools, portals, API’s, interfaces, expect at least 60% of your time to be designing and coding, 20% project managing and partnering, and 20% in system administration duties
• Stay abreast of latest technologies and trends

Required Qualifications:
• Strong software development background, familiar with all aspects of the software development life cycle
• Demonstrated Ruby on Rails experience including at least two major projects
• Strong experience across multiple technology stacks and programming languages
• MySQL database design and administration experience preferred, ideally with focus on managing time series data
• Demonstrated systems administration experience with Linux, Apache, Mongrel, MySQL, PSQL, AJAX and other open source tools and technologies
• Demonstrated experience with queuing systems, preferably Java's ActiveMQ
• Experience with software quality management tools such as SVN, Git, Trac, Bugzilla
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Good time management skills with project management experience
• 3+ years experience in web-based system architecture design and development is required
• Relevant B.S. Degree Preferred
