Rails Web Designer - FLURRY

San Francisco, CA

Do you like to work hard and have fun? Do you want to be a part of the leading edge of web dev? New Relic is looking for a Web Designer with a passion for Ruby and an appetite for the tough job of making performance management easy for the Rails community?

At New Relic we are passionate – possibly even crazy – about Ruby on Rails. Even more so about application performance management. Our mission is to radically improve the performance and scalability of Rails, making web applications run better, making internet users more productive, and making life easier for developers. And the marketplace has responded – we are growing rapidly, exceeding even our own aggressive goals.

New Relic was started a little over year ago by a group of people who have created successful companies before. Our product, RPM™ was introduced in May of ’08, and since then we have been growing by about several hundred customers a month. RPM is very easy to install and use and gives a lot of value to our customers. You can go to our website to read some of their comments about RPM.

You will be joining a unique team. People who succeed at New Relic have a sense of urgency, a lot of initiative, a commitment to customer success, an enthusiasm about pushing the edge . . . and a good sense of humor. We provide interesting work, a great product, new things to learn, and the freedom to make the job work the way only you can do it.

Working in this role you will

Create and maintain the user interface for the RPM site.
Collaborate with our lead UI designer and creative director.
Draw on UXD experience to ensure the RPM site has a high degree of usability
Layout and code new features for the RPM site.
Write Ruby on Rails code.

To be considered seriously, you will have

Excellent knowledge of HTML/CSS/Javascript.
Prior experience building RoR websites.
Strong visual design skill.
Based in San Francisco.

And New Relic will provide:

Great benefits (100% of costs of individual medical/dental/vision/life)
Pre-IPO stock options, backed by top-tier VC investment
Eighteen days of paid time off in your first year (AND 10 paid holidays)
Flexible work environment and schedules
Work that will challenge your capabilities

We want applicants of diverse background and hire without regard to race, color, gender, religion, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, disability, age, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic protected by law.
