Not really rails related, but hopefully someone has some knowledge or a link or two.

I haven't been able to find a good tutorial or documentation on best practices for running an outgoing only email server.

Our rails based website sends out a lot of email. Which I haven't been having any issues with, but don't really know whats going on in the background. I know its using postfix to send the email, but nothing really past that.

What I'm looking for is some notes on how others send email from servers that don't need to handle incoming email or forwarding. Also how to remove all email capabilities from a server and manage bounces and emails from internal server programs.

We are using rhel4...
